Straight from the Heart

This important contribution to the history of the Australian outback honours the nursing sisters who have battled personal and professional isolation to serve there during the twentieth century, and chronicles in particular the nursing services of the Australian Inland Mission, founded by Flynn of the Inland in 1912. The book contributes to a better understanding of the efforts made to provide Aboriginal people with medical and health care.
