String Basics

Welcome to String Basics Book 2. We are confident you have discovered how much fun it is to play violin in orchestra and that's why you are back and ready to become more advanced. This book will help you learn new notes, more rhythm patterns, and major and minor keys; and you'll explore music from a variety of cultures and composers. We are excited to present a special feature: jazz and improvisation! You will learn to play a real jazz chart and you will also have a lesson or two about improvisation. Fun! But first, get back into the routine with the members of your orchestra class with the review material on pages 2-10. Also be sure to check out the Interactive Practice Studio (IPS) where you have access to audio accompaniments, video lessons, extra historical and cultural tidbits, a tuner, a mini recording studio, and more. - Title page.
