Studies in music history

On March 6, 1996, H. C. Robbins Landon, one of the world's leading experts on composers of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, celebrated his seventieth birthday. To mark this event friends and professional colleagues in Europe and the USA have contributed scholarly studies to this commemorative volume. The range of their subject-matter relates closely to the dedicatee's own special interests, and the contributions (some in English, some in German) reflect the esteem in which H. C. Robbins Landon is held internationally.
