Suffrage outside Suffragism

"This collection of essays systematically explores how a sample of political groupings not based on suffrage reacted and accommodated the issue of suffrage within their official discourses and structures. This original approach shows their processes of organisation and adaptation as 'suffrage' brought in contentious issues along with new female members. Examining 'Suffrage outside Suffragism' leads not only to the heart and core of suffragism but also weaves the dynamics and versatilities of the Edwardian political fabric."--Jacket.
