על הספר
"Songwriters, Texan or otherwise, are storytellers. Their stories are brief, maybe three or four verses that take three or four minutes to sing. ... Their work is not dense with detail; it is dense with implications that grow from just the right details. ... Texas songwriters tell hundreds of such suggestive stories. ... So how ... might Texas fiction writers use some of those musical tales for inspiration? ... The challenge was simple: write stories somehow inspired by songs of any genre written or performed by Texas musicians. The best results are the thirteen stories selected for inclusion here"--The Editor, p. ix.
