על הספר
"The Art of Dale Chihuly is published on the occasion of a major exhibition at the de Young Museum in San Francisco. It traces the evolution of the artist's extraordinary career, from his groundbreaking role as an American installation artist working with unconventional materials such as neon and ice, through his cofounding of the influential Pilchuck Glass School north of Seattle, to his current role as an artist of international stature." "The original essay by Timothy Anglin Burgard expands the discussion of Chihuly's work beyond the postwar American studio glass movement to larger art historical and cultural contexts, describing not only its technical and aesthetic innovations but also its significant content. Important aspects of Chihuly's art and career are examined in depth, and his contributions to art history are documented."--Jacket.
