The Balkan prophet

"The authors of this book, two well-known Russian journalists, covered for more than twenty years events, ethnic conflicts and devastating wars in the Balkans. They reported extensively on political activities of Milan Panic in 1990's and his efforts to stop wars and bring peace to Yugoslavia. The hero of the book, Milan Panic, is a man with an unusual life story. As a teenage boy he took part in the anti-fascist struggle during World War II, a winner of many international bicycle races, a Serb who became a prominent American, and finally Prime Minister of Yugoslavia. Milan Panic is a man who continues to play an important role not just in his homeland, but also in Russia and China. The book reveals for the first time certain events from his life that have substantially influenced international politics."--Cover.
