The Drug Problem

Levinson, an alcoholism and substance abuse counselor in New York state, discusses drug history and policy and examines the question of drug legalization, treatment, and prevention. He applies general semantics ("a process-oriented, problem solving system") to the material, stressing precision in description and emphasizing differences between the general and the specific. A final section explores how he has applied general semantics to the question of prevention in his own practice. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR.
