The Fuse

"One year ago, Munich detective Ralph Dietrich was the first cop ever to volunteer for a transfer from Earth to The Fuse, a giant orbiting solar energy station 22,000 miles up. But Fuse cops are underpaid, undermanned, and overworked. It's a dead-end post, not a career stepping stone. Why would he give up a promising career for this? His partner, aging engineer-turned-cop Klem Ristovych, has worked up some theories. But the truth is more tragic and complex than even she realizes...and it's about to blow up in both their faces. When a young man is found dead in a zero-G ball arena, it looks like just another murder case for Klem to solve before she finally retires to a life of leisure on Mars. But the investigation soon takes a frightening turn, and before you can say "anti-terror task force" Ralph himself is in Klem's sights--as the number one suspect."--page 4 of cover
