The great leopard rescue

Amur leopards were on the brink of extinction, with only thirty left in the wild in 2007. In 2012 an area of the leopards' habitat in eastern Russia was set aside as a protected national park. But scientists needed to help the wild population grow. How could they introduce new Amur leopards with the skills to survive in the wild? And how could they protect the existing cats from disease and other threats? Find out how innovative scientists, new camera technology, government leadership, and community efforts are creating a hopeful future for these majestic big cats.
