The Gumshoe

Small town cop With an attitude Set up and shot Left for dead by his own. Went to a big city Became a private detective With an attitude. He’s good But not as good as he thinks he is. Like a backup quarterback, Jeb Smith picks up the pieces that Hutchison and Company doesn't give to their main investigation service. So when he accepts the cut-rate job to find one of Hutchison's four attorneys-who's been missing for over a week-all hell breaks loose.Throughout the investigation, he's in over his head and doesn't seem to know it. From antagonizing half of the City of Portland's police force to occasionally crossing the line into the realm of the criminal, he somehow manages to stay one step ahead of total disaster. At least most of the time.
