The book details the history of Pantone, focusing on the CEO and founder, Lawrence Herbert. In 1963 Pantone created an innovative system of identifying, matching and communicating colours to solve problems associated with producing accurate colour matches for the spot colour print standard used by the graphic arts community, originally in the USA. Lawrence Herbert's key insight was that the spectrum is seen and interpreted differently by each individual led to the innovation of the Pantone Matching System®.
