The Lammas Hireling
Ian Duhig · 2003
על הספר
"The title poem of Ian Duhig's new collection has already been hailed as a contemporary classic: a brilliantly disturbing riddle, related from the shadowland where the everyday and occult worlds overlap. What has always marked Duhig's material out is its refusal to privilege the anecdotal detail of high culture and the official annals over that of the folk arts and real social history; of our contemporary poets, Ian Duhig is perhaps the most firmly committed to the idea that poetry is still the most powerful way in which those true histories - the tales of our lives, loves and work - can be celebrated and commemorated. The Lammas Hireling is a realization of that ideal, and fittingly sees Duhig the storyteller and balladeer emerge more strongly than ever."--BOOK JACKET.
