The other place

The 'other place' of Mr. Priestley's stories is that uncharted land across the frontier of time and beyond the borders of consciousness which most of us visit, or at least are aware of, at some moment or another of our lives. Mr. Priestley brings to his fascinating and unusual stories the same skill and power that characterized *Time and the Conways*, *I Have Been Here Before*, and the other 'Time Plays'. And, of course, the brilliant descriptive gift known to every reader of each novel brings each detail sharp and clear before the eyes, whether it is Blackley's ' Railway Hotel' on a wet November Sunday or the unearthly beauty of the statues towering over London which only one man could see.
