The World in Photographs 2001

"The year 2001 was one of life-changing and history-making events, perhaps the most dramatic of which were the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington D. C. and the ensuing war in Afghanistan. Around the world, photojournalists from Agence France-Presse were on the scene documenting these and other important news events of the year, from the political upheaval in Argentina to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Of course, Agence France-Presse also covers the lighter side of life, from sensational couture shows in Paris to the space voyage of Dennis Tito, the world's first "space tourist." From arts and culture to dramatic moments of crisis, The World in Photographs: 2001, captures the most unbelievable and unforgettable images of the year."--BOOK JACKET.
