Theatre of empowerment

"The Theatre of Empowerment: Prison, Performance, and Possibility presents the compelling stories of "The Muddy Flower Theatre Troupe," a group of male prisoners in Wisconsin who study and perform the works of William Shakespeare. This innovative ethnography incorporates multiple perspectives, including those of the volunteer director, the incarcerated men, members of the community, and the media. Fascinating and revelatory, this book will be required reading for students across a wide range of subject areas, including ethnography, education, criminal justice, applied theatre, applied communication, performance studies, and community arts and activism"--
