Through a Narrow Door

"Acting Chief Inspector Hillary Greene is baffled by the murder of a fifteen-year-old boy found stabbed to death in his father's allotment shed. Billy is not the victim of sexual abuse and is not known to the police as a troublemaker. Living in a tiny hamlet and attending a local school, how had he come to meet up with such a vicious killer? And who would want the lad dead? And why?" "Hillary is not helped in her investigations by distractions at HQ either. Not only is she about to lose the reliable and competent Tommy Lynch, now promoted to DS and off to Headington, but her old friend Superintendent Philip 'Mellow' Mallow and her Sergeant, Janine Tyler, spring some surprising news on her. Then, to top it all, she's demoted back down to Dl and her new boss turns out to be the last man on earth she wants to work for! But none of these distractions will stop her from finding a cold-blooded killer."--BOOK JACKET.
