Tim and Pete

"Tim and Pet. Ex-boyfriends. Opposites - as in attract and repel. This is the harrowing twenty-four hours of their ambivalent reconciliation: an all-night odyssey across the hyper-realist landscape of contemporary Los Angels." "Driving down the drug-warped streets of this postmodern roman noir, Tim and Pete intersect with a volatile cast of fellow travelers: a rabidly homophobic Orange county congressman, a demented Southern drag queen, a pushy leather dyke, and occult-obsessed filmmaker, a recovering Manson girl, and a gang of anarchistic queers who have abandoned the path of nonviolence." "In the age of AIDS, this is both a story of love and sex and messy emotions between two survivors, and a visceral discourse on political art, inflammatory music, and the ethics and logistics of violent retribution when art is no longer enough. Serious and sarcastic, raunchy and satirie, this rude, graphic literary novel - more Drugstore Cowboy than A Boy's Own Story - captures the euphoria and the anger of twenty years of gay experience and of one tenuous relationship."--BOOK JACKET.
