"Featuring work by forty-eight artists from the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD), this book showcases key works and new commissions that demonstrate the diversity and hybridity of contemporary Latin American art. Highlighting artists who work across media and between disciplines, the exhibition and catalogue reveal connections and encounters between Latinos working within the United States and artists from Latin America, celebrating the heterogeneous nature of contemporary Latin American and Latino art, dismantling preconceptions, and promoting new interpretations."--BOOK JACKET.
