Universal Spirit

"This book explores how the 6 seasons of the Christian year--i.e., Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost--reflect, and in turn can address with helpful insights, the challenges and realities people face in their daily lives. While the seasons of the Christian year may seem arcane to many, Don Collett uses this method of structuring the year as a way to draw forth insights into what he calls the "universal spirit," spiritual truths which may be applied in the course of a person's everyday life. The insights of Northrop Frye (1912-1991), one of Canada's top literary scholars and critics, provide the interpretative lens through which the six seasons are presented. The book contains bibliographic endnotes for each chapter. Key words: Christian Year, Northrop Frye, Christian spirituality"--
