Walking in the same direction

"The shape of the church to come, says Brazilian theologian Leonardo Boff, is to be seen in basic church communities. Inspired by experiments among Catholics in Latin America in the 1960s, a similar search for "a new way of being church" is now going on elsewhere in the world. Under a variety of names - "house church", "small faith community", "cell group"--All are bringing together Christians determined to broaden and deepen their community, not only among themselves but also across wider boundaries of geography and culture. Drawing on her own contacts with such communities in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America and North America, the author describes how this movement has grown, what challenges these communities face and what significance they have for the shape of the church in the twenty-first century." --from back cover.
