Wallace Stevens across the Atlantic

"Wallace Stevens across the Atlantic is a unique collection of critical essays devoted to the major American poet Wallace Stevens (1879-1955). A select group of contributors considers the Transatlantic nature of Stevens' work, its translation into European languages and its transformation into other media. The volume explores how Stevens forged a new aesthetic out of his Transatlantic influences; and how, in turn, this aesthetic influenced various European poets and artists. No volume focusing on the Transatlantic nature of Stevens' work has yet been published, and the line-up of Stevens experts is both cross-generational and unusually international."--Jacket.
