Who's Who in Animated Cartoons

"Here is the long overdue first biographical reference and first book of its kind to chronicle the amazing careers of nearly 300 of animation's most honored and recognized animator-directors and animator-producers from around the world since this popular art form was born 100 years ago." "Who's Who in Animated Cartoons is a detailed A-to-Z reference that provides birth dates, places of birth, personal and educational backgrounds, a discussion of early film work, styles and influences, key films and television productions, and the origins of characters. The animator's most important milestones and achievements, along with insightful quotes and comments from the animators themselves about their work are included." "The creators of animated cartoon shorts, full-length animated features, animated television specials, and animated television series from around the world are here. This includes many notable animation pioneers who, because of their groundbreaking innovations and pioneering technical wizardry, paved the way for future animators long before industry awards were established." "With more than 70 never-before-published photos and illustrations, including a full-color section of animation art, culled from private collections and many animators' personal collections, this book is an invaluable guide to the men and women who have shaped cinematic and television animation for decades to come."--Jacket.
