booktheque is a book and author database in Hebrew and English. It is in beta: the database keeps growing and has gaps.

The data (names, years, authors, genres, series, languages) comes from Wikidata, Wikimedia's free knowledge base, under CC0. When an item has no Hebrew name, the English one is shown.

Author photos are shown only when they have a free licence on Wikimedia Commons, always with credit. Book covers are not shown because most are protected by copyright; the title is shown instead.

Texts about books and authors are written with AI from structured data and source text, in our own wording, and pass automated checks. They are labelled as such.

We do not use data, ratings or summaries from Goodreads, Amazon or Google Books.
