Another Country

"In Another Country, Reiner Leist continues his series of South African portraits, of which the first part was published and exhibited in 1993 entitled South Africa: Blue Portraits. Since 2009 Leist has chronicled unvarnished accounts of what has changed in the lives of the individuals portrayed and in their view of the country. The now historic black and white portraits are juxtaposed with recent color portraits, but also of surviving sons or daughters, or a new office holder. The complete conversations are an essential read for a better understanding of South Africa today." -- http://www.artbooksheidelberg.de/html/detail/en/reiner-leist-.html
