Art in Nature

Founded by philanthropist Alice Walton and opened to the public in 2011, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art welcomes all to celebrate the American spirit in a setting that unites the power of art with the beauty of landscape. This beautifully designed, fully illustrated volume celebrates the first major museum devoted to American artwork to open in the United States in half a century. Exquisite, newly commissioned photography depicts Moshe Safdie's striking and graceful architecture, nestled in a creek bed fed by a natural spring. The connections between art and landscape are made through breathtaking views and vistas of the grounds and architecture, and intimate experiences with the artwork.
