As Earth Begins to End New Poems Patricia Goedicke The author's twelfth collection was born out of a thirty-year love affair between two people who are now mourning-and celebrating-the diminishment of energy and eventual death of individual love. Their mortality mirrors the earth's entropy-an environment in which each one of us: plant, animal, human being, earth itself-is, quite naturally, ending.
