Auschwitz escape

"Klara Wizel is full of life at sixteen years old. But a horrific chain of events puts her in one of the most terrifying places imaginable: Auschwitz-Birkenau. There she comes face to face with one of history's most infamous Nazi doctors, nicknamed the Angel of Death, Josef Mengele. With her parents and two of her siblings already killed in the gas chambers, Klara and her two remaining sisters struggle to survive in the women's barracks until Mengele sentences Klara herself to die. But as she waits in the holding room of the chambers, she manages to orchestrate a remarkable death-defying escape. Already the subject of an award-winning documentary, Auschwitz Esacpe: The Klara Wizel Story is based on dozens of personal interviews, and it recounts the inspirational tale of a girl who escapes imminent death at the hands of one of the world's most notorious war criminals."--Back cover.
