C. S. Lewis, My Godfather

It has often been suggested to me, following talks I have given in England and the United States about my memories of C.S. Lewis as a godfather, that I should write down my recollections so as to provide a more permanent record of them for posterity. What follows is my attempt to do this and is also a personal testament to the man, based largely on memories stirred by a number of personal letters written to me, my parents and others throughout his lifetime.
