Cyrano de Bergerac [videorecording]

One of the most popular dramas in the history of theater is Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac, a heroic comedy set in seventeenth-century France. The drama's enduring success is easily understood by those who know the story and its hero. In this two-part series, Beneth Peters Jones gives valuable insight into the story's conflicts, characters, and theme. In addition to her analysis are extensive excerpts from the 1988 Classic Players production. Mrs. Jones, the director of this production, has also played the leading role of Roxane in earlier performances. Her experience as both performer and director makes her an excellent commentator for this compelling drama. - Container.
