About the book

The exhibition arranged at the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza is part of the ambitious project 'Art Déco. The Roaring Twenties in Italy' of the?Musei di San Domenico? in Forlì. In the museum of Faenza the focus will be on local leading artists, but internationally outstanding such as Domenico Rambelli, Francesco Nonni, Pietro Melandri, Riccardo Gatti, Giovanni Guerrini, just to make some well-known examples, in a widest period of activity: from 1920 to 1935. Ceramics will be the protagonist but each author will be presented also through other peculiar forms of art: posters, glasses and metals by Guerrini; xilographies by Nonni; furniture by Berdondini and Golfieri. Relevant national comparisons will be carried on thanks to the outstanding works by Gio Ponti and Giovanni Gariboldi for the Richard Ginori, beside the Lenci and Rometti manufactures. The international background will be represented by the German ceramics of the Weimar republic, by French and Belgian manufactures. The expositive project aims to illustrate an international story inside an international seat, the MIC, to show the charming and unique taste of an Epoch.00Exhibition: Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche, Faenza, Italy (18.02. - 01.10.2017).
