About the book

Yoram (Richie) Friedman moves to Israel with his wife and 10-year-old son during the aftermath of the victorious Six Day War in 1967. After a short while, his wife and son return to the United States. Although Yoram is devastated, he tightly holds his Zionistic dream of participating in the rebuilding of the Jewish nation. After almost a quarter of a century, the silence from his family is broken by an unexpected letter form his 12-year-old grandson and he develops a pen-pal relationship with him. This is a story about family relationships, but also about the State of Israel and the coming of age of the grandson.
