Journey to Peridëis

Alisha, a high school graduate without a university place in the gray everyday life of the GDR, gains access to nothing less than paradise. However, the relevant paradise literature proves to be highly incomplete, because in paradise, the deepest, most secret dreams come true—a matter that authorities of all times have condemned as downright immoral. Walling up, boarding up, burying, denying—what hasn’t been done to spoil the sweetness for people? Yet the legends never died. Like Alisha, people kept uncovering hidden pathways to the lost paradise, learning that ecstasy can ignite the body’s desires and freedom can spark the mind with all sorts of forbidden thoughts—sexual, political, or otherwise undesirable. And one more thing: women’s breasts are absolutely not superfluous ornaments boldly displayed upfront. Why? Oh, you’ll have to read it yourself.
