King of Yiddish

"A serio-comic novel, King of Yiddish immerses the reader into the life of Shmulik Gafni, an Israeli professor of Yiddish. Two contrasting life narratives plague Gafni: his extended, obsessive search in Poland for the man who mudered his father in the notorious Kielce pogrom, and Gafni's infatuation with Malina, a beauteous non-Jewish Polish linguist in Jerusalem to study Yiddish. Guess who her private tutor is? Rumors fly. Will synchronicity also fly? "-- p.[4] of the cover.
