Looking for Lucy Gilligan & other stories

Looking for Lucy Gilligan & Other Stories is a collection of award-winning short fiction by Murray H. Edwards. The nineteen stories are a blend of humor, drama, and satire. In the title story, "Looking for Lucy Gilligan," an overweight, down-on-his-luck truck driver receives a rare opportunity to reinvent himself, as well as his love life, by becoming a contestant on a television reality show. "Equanimity, Texas," is the tale of an aging, opinionated, never-been-married mortician who has the hots for women who chew Doublemint gum. In "Gazoonies and Spoofers," a gambling-addicted ex-lawyer joins a traveling carnival, seeking and ultimately finding redemption - of sorts. Relationship expert, "Ask Mr. Mighty Brain," returns to publication after serving a six-month suspension for calling Mother Teresa "one hot little fox." A husband compares and evaluates his current and previous marriages through the lens of a high school reunion in "Waiting for Vivian." A Texas prison guard regularly seeks "advice" from Clint Eastwood, Kim Bassinger, Tommy Lee Jones, and Kevin Spacey in "With a Lot of Help from My Friends."
