"Meet Me in the Parking Lot - Alexandra Leggat's stylish successor to her collection of short fiction Pull Gently, Tear Here (Insomniac, 2001) - is a foray into the rocky terrain of the troubled mind. Leggat explores all aspects of the ambulatory: the vehicle that brings us into the world, the vehicle we get around in while here, and the vehicle that often loses control and crashes. Here, characters externalize their internal conflicts, and the stories share the common themes of mothers, cars and the unpredictable nature of the psyche. Meet Me in the Parking Lot is about overcoming the raw deals and attempting to obtain the purest things in life: love, a good deal of happiness, and a safe place to call your own."--BOOK JACKET.
