Miss Julie

"Sweden, 1894. Midsummer night's celebrations are in ful swing, but the Count's daughter, Miss Julie, feels trapped and alone. Downstairs in the servants' kitchen, Jean, a handsome and rebellious footman, is feeling restless. When they meet, a passion is ignited that soon spirals out of control. Strindberg's masterpiece casued a scandal when it was first produced, and has been hugely popular ever since. It is a searingly honest portrait of the class system and human sexuality, and how passion knows no bounds"--P. [4] of cover.
