Miss Tibbles' Folly

An Indomitable Governess Meets Her Match No one crossed Miss Tibbles. Although she was not a dragon, the lively governess was formidable. A lady in reduced circumstances, Marian Tibbles had successfully ushered dozens of young misses through their Seasons and to the altar without a scandal. Now vacationing in Bath, she was astounded when a strange gentleman spoke to her. And she was aghast when she found herself gazing into his eyes and answering back. In truth, retired Colonel Merriweather had served with Miss Tibbles' fiance long ago, before her beloved died in battle, along with her dreams. Now the dashing Colonel was himself struck down--by Cupid's arrow. Soon he was defying the ton, his relatives, and Miss Tibbles' former charges to court her. Could his campaign succeed? A mere governess did not go about with a gentleman. Or let him kiss her in public. Yet Miss Tibbles surrendered to her newly awakened passion--until a dark secret and the clash of her strong will with his led to a choice that required great courage...or perhaps a broken heart.
