Regarding the sink

A series of letters reveals the selection of the famous fountain designer, Florence Waters, to design a new sink for the Geyser Creek Middle School cafeteria, her subsequent disappearance, and the efforts of a class of sixth-graders to find her.

First sentence: On the heels of federal budget cuts that have slashed funding for class trips, school parties, art teachers, librarians, cooks, and custodians, the students at Geyser Creek Middle School have settled in for a "quiet, no-nonsense" academic year.
