About the book
I have tried to proved a straightforward account of Browning's poetic career as a whole, to give special attention to works and issues of special interest, and to gloss with cogent events in the life of the poet. Despite awareness of the dangers, I have hoped to say something useful or interesting about every book and every poem that Browning published.
