Dr. Abby Adams was serving out her late sister's term in the US Senate and couldn't wait to get out. She was tired of lobbyists and demogagues. At the end of Volume 1, she was president pro tem of the Senate and, through freak occurrences, she became President of the United States. In Volume II, Abigail Adams goes from someone who cries herself to sleep at night and throws up every morning in fear, to a leader of historic importance. Along the way, she finds friends, foes and finally, a lasting love.
