In the summer of '82, Sally Thomas begins her first season as an Assistant Stage Manager at the beautiful theatre in Crewe. Flung into this new world, one of the first lessons she learns is that the actors need no tuition in the art of stage-fighting, since they are quite adept at stabbing each other in the back.
