The envied and other stories

A dead scientist's undamaged brain is transplanted into a robot body and kept alive. Soon, other people who die in their turn come to inhabit the continually improving grey cases. But why do they sever all contact with their former friends and family members? Warren and his girlfriend Judith are both envious and suspicious of the way in which the Greys are taking control of society, and determined to discover their secrets. Then Judith dies and becomes a Grey... Five stories of the fantastic and the supernatural by John Burke.
