The Infidel

"A faithless wretch of a man in a vile and violent profession, John Newton stood as the infidel, a life lived in opposition to the gospel. Blinded by ambition, he was lost in a sea of greed, money, and power. But this slave ship captain would have an encounter with a grace so amazing that not only would it change him; it would also bless the whole world."--Back cover.

First sentence: Reverend Alwyn Aimsley, the old vicar, was taking his morning stroll on the neighborhood London road when he thought he heard a scream.
