Ann McMath, daughter of John McMath (1809-1851) and Charlotte Carr (1808-1848), was born in 1834 near Ypsilanti, Michigan. She married William Oliver Hammond in 1856 in Horseheads, New York. They had six children. They moved to Kansas in 1870.
