About the book
THE OVERSHADOWER BY Sylvia Groves "If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth shall save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth, shall destroy you." (from the Gnostic Gospels.) This stunning piece of visionary fiction is the story of Richard Brett, who killed, but didn't really mean to kill. Yet, as a murderer, he is executed in the gas chamber in Mississippi. He dies.....but is re-born into a world beyond this one. Shocked, and struggling to cope with his experience, he finds this bizarre new World is a land full of pitfalls, dangers and horrors. He meets Nelson, a man of true power, unprejudiced by Brett's history, who guides him through this Land, while Brett's Soul fights for survival against unimaginable forces, and is forced to adapt to situations far beyond his experience. But under this pressure, deep and distant memories are released: of his training as an elite warrior, in another lifetime. So reluctantly, yet inevitably, the Man of Power is born. And now he must choose whether to play his part in the battle against the Dark Forces of Gehina.
