Little is known about the first son, Nicholas. The third son, Jacobus (1692-1776) was the founder of the Hyde Park Roosevelts from whom Franklin Delano Roosevelt descended. The middle son, Johannes (1689-?) was the founder of the Oyster Bay Roosevelts from whom Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919) descended.
