Toward a hot Jew

"Miriam Libicki navigates her dual U.S./Israeli citizenship--and what it means globally and culturally to be Jewish--in her first collection of essay comics. These intellectually engaging works of pencil-and-watercolor journalism, dating from her time in the Israeli military to her tenure as an art professor, investigate ethnicity, art, and sexuality. Via interviews, Libicki explores sociology in the Middle East and Jewish identity in comics history. Much like Art Spiegleman and Phoebe Gloeckner before her, Miriam Libicki's Toward a hot Jew is a new high watermark in nonfiction and autobiographical comics."--Page 4 of cover.
