She and her mother have been preparing for the birth of her first child for months, years even - ever since Maxi can remember. But when the big day arrives, something goes horribly, inconceivably wrong. Instead of delivering a healthy newborn, Maxi gives birth to herself - a clone."--BOOK JACKET. "In the medical world, Maxi becomes a cause celebre. But when Maxi's crazy and controlling mother, Minnie, kidnaps Middle the clone, all hell breaks loose. The doctors threaten Maxi with lawsuits, the media goes into a feeding frenzy, and the entire nation waits in feverish excitement for the latest Maxi, Minnie, and Middle news."--BOOK JACKET. "A fantastic ride through modern, middle-class society, Twinship is an unforgettable story of a woman determined, once and for all, to find...herself."--BOOK JACKET.
