"Architects Mauricio de M. Campos Elguero and his son Mauricio M. Campos Agara (grandfather and father of the author) represent the spirit of their own time: in the first case, his letters to (José Ives) Limantour reflect his desire to demonstrate the greatness of Mexican architecture against the preponderance of European styles (French and Italian). In the second, we can identify with detail an ideologist of architecture, decidedly modern that fought against all styling with precise ideas of what was the social role played by Mexican architectureʺ (HKB Translation) --Page 10.
